ICT in Marble Sector

Turkey has 40% of World marble resources and the sector is booming in every year (Tummer). In the information age, as in every area, in every level of marble sector there is a need for staff with ICT skills. Afyon Vocational School is such an educational center that serves to marble sector with its qualified graduates from 13 technical and 8 social programs.

It is known that using ICT in the sector is very important. And the former project participant report shows that the importance is increasing. Educated staffs with ICT skills (Lisbon Agenda) are the most important asset for the future of sector in Europe. With this occasion, graduates of mainly department of computer technology and Marble technology (also from other departments; that works in the sector) will have the opportunity to improve their theoretical education with practical work placement in related firms located in Italy’s Carrara region. The project will help employment and job opportunities for the participants.

Afyonkarahisar (Turkey) and Carrara (Italy) are the important Marble (natural stone) production and processing regions in the Europe. They have a pioneering position in Natural Stone Sector. For this project partnerships are established in both side with Pandolfi, GVM, CNS, Campolonghi, Alimoglu, Gurel, Gurmas, Demmer, Sivas Vocational School.

Twenty-six (26) participants from different branches (an interdisciplinary group) will have a vocational training in Afyon and Carrara. The project will be accomplished between September 2008 and December 2009 for the duration of 15 months.

In the line of European vision with our partners, it is very important to have the skilled work force as a bridge in our sector for the good collaboration and contribution to their carriers. Valorization of results will contribute the sector a new image creation and this will turn out an international example with ICT.

La tecnologia dell'informazione e della comunicazione nel settore marmo

Il 40% delle risorse di marmo del mondo si trova in Turchia e questo settore si sta sviluppando rapidamente di anno in anno (Tummer). Nell’era della conoscenza, in ogni area ed ad ogni livello, si sente il bisogno di personale con capacità inerenti alle tecnologie dell’informazione e della comunicazione (ICT). L’istituto professionale di Afyon è un centro di educazione e formazione che si occupa del settore marmo con corsi qualificati suddivisi in 13 programmi tecnici e 8 programmi sociali. E’ noto che l’uso delle ICT in questo settore è molto importante e in aumento come dimostra la relazione sui partecipanti al progetto. Gli staff, istruiti con abilità relative alle ICT (Agenda di Lisbona), sono l’elemento più importante per il futuro del settore in Europa. Grazie a questa occasione, i laureati dei più importanti dipartimenti di tecnologia informatica e di tecnologia del marmo (oltre che quelli provenienti da altri dipartimenti che lavorano nel settore) avranno l’opportunità di perfezionare la loro istruzione teorica con attività pratiche svolte in aziende collocate nella zona di Carrara, in Italia.
Il progetto sarà utile per trovare opportunità di lavoro per i partecipanti.

Afyonkarahisar (Turchia) e Carrara (Italia) sono le più importanti regioni in Europa per quanto riguarda l’estrazione e la lavorazione del marmo (pietra naturale). Sono aree pioniere nel settore lapideo. Per questo progetto la partership è stata stabilita congiuntamente fra lo Studio Pandolfi, GVM, CNS, Alimoglu, Gurel, Gurmas, Demmer e l’Istituto professionale Sivas.

I ventisei partecipanti, provenienti da rami professionali differenti (gruppo interdisciplinare), avranno una formazione professionale sia ad Afyon che a Carrara. Il progetto terminerà tra Settembre 2009 e Dicembre 2009, per una durata complessive di 15 mesi.

Nel contesto europeo, risulta essenziale per i partner avere forza lavoro esperta che faccia da ponte nel nostro settore per una collaborazione ottimale. La valorizzazione dei risultati contribuirà alla creazione di una nuova immagine per il settore e questo farà diventare il progetto ICT un esempio a livello internazionale.

Avrupa Birliği Eğitim ve Gençlik Programları Merkezi Başkanlığınca kabul edilen ve koordinatörlüğünü Afyon Meslek Yüksekokulundan Öğr. Grv. Mehmet Kahraman'ın yaptığı proje, Haziran 2008 ile Temmuz 2009 ayları arasında 12 ay sürecek. Projede yer alacak 26 kişi önce Afyonkarahisar'da 2 hafta süreli, daha sonra da Carrara'da 4 hafta süreli uygulamalı mesleki eğitim görecek.
